How to check the Mac mini serial, model, and warranty

The Mac mini is tracked by a serial number, which Apple uses for model, activation date, and warranty on Check Coverage. See the glossary.

A valid code only proves the device exists in Apple's systems — not that every part is original. Always match the returned model against the physical unit, box label, and receipt.

1. Choose the Apple menu → About This Mac to read the serial number.
2. The serial is also engraved on the underside or printed on the box.
3. Copy it directly to avoid confusing 0 with the letter O.

Tip: copy from the screen instead of retyping from a photo — it is easy to confuse 0 with O or drop the last character. On dual-SIM phones, record both IMEI 1 and IMEI 2.

1. Open Apple Check Coverage.
2. Enter the Mac mini serial number and the verification code.
3. Read model, activation status, and service/warranty expiry.
4. Match the returned model against the device/box before concluding.
5. For many units, collect serials in Excel and bulk-check with BatchIMEI.

Activated: a warranty/service expiry date means the Mac mini clock is running. Not activated: Apple confirms a valid record but shows no expiry.

“Not found” is not always counterfeit — typos, market mismatch, or unsynced data are common. If the returned model does not match the box/device, stop the deal.

Some commercial reports may return a Mac mini variant, including color or 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, but public Apple Check Coverage mainly uses the serial to confirm model and warranty coverage. Do not trust color/storage from an unclear source alone.

Cross-check Settings → General → About, the model/part number, on-device capacity, and the box label. Because color or storage does not change the IMEI check flow, BatchIMEI keeps one useful page per model instead of near-duplicate pages for each color and capacity.

• Export serials/IMEIs to Excel or CSV.
